Painted calipers are a small detail with an outsized effect. Behind a good set of wheels, a crisp, cleanly finished caliper signals that a car has been looked after down to the last component. It's one of the most cost-effective ways to lift a car's appearance, as long as it's done properly.

The result lives or dies on preparation. We clean and degrease each caliper thoroughly, remove old flaking paint, brake dust and surface corrosion, and mask everything that shouldn't be coated, because a caliper finish is only as good as the surface underneath it. We then build up a durable finish suited to the heat and grime brakes live with, choosing the right system for the job and curing it properly so it holds up, resisting fade, chipping and brake-dust staining far better than a quick rattle-can job.

Colour is yours to choose, in gloss, satin or matt. Gloss black for a factory-sharp OEM look, a bold red or yellow for contrast against dark wheels, or a shade matched to a wrap or respray for a fully coordinated build. We can also pick out cast lettering by hand, or paint on a manufacturer-style logo such as a Brembo-style script, for a genuinely finished result.

Because calipers sit behind the wheels, this service pairs naturally with an alloy refurbishment or a new set of wheels. Doing both together means the whole corner of the car is considered as one. We'll happily advise on colour combinations that work.

We'll quote once we've seen the car and know how the calipers are finished. In most cases it's a same-day or next-day job, and the difference every time you glance at the wheels is well worth it.

Almost any, in gloss, satin or matt. Gloss black for a sharp factory look, a bold red or yellow to stand out behind dark wheels, a subtle satin or matt shade, or a colour matched to a wrap or respray for a coordinated build. Tell us the look you are after and we will confirm what is achievable when we see the car.

Yes. We use durable finishes suited to the heat and grime brakes live with, built up in coats and cured properly so they hold up rather than discolouring or flaking the way a standard paint would. We choose the right system for the job, so the finish lasts.

For most cars we clean, mask and finish the calipers in place to a high standard. Where taking them off gives a better result and can be done safely, we will advise it. Either way, we never coat anything that affects how the brakes work.

Caliper work is usually a quick turnaround, often a same-day or next-day job. The finish needs time to cure properly before the wheels go back on and the car is driven, so we build that into the timing. We confirm when you book.

Done properly, it holds up well. The result lives or dies on preparation, so we degrease, strip old flaking paint and mask carefully before coating, because a caliper finish is only as good as the surface underneath it. Prepped and cured correctly, it resists the heat, grime and brake dust that make a rushed rattle-can job peel.

In many cases, yes. We can pick out cast lettering by hand, or paint on a manufacturer-style logo such as a Brembo-style script, for that finishing touch. Tell us the look you want and we will let you know what suits your particular calipers when we see them.

Very little. Once fully cured, painted calipers just want normal wheel cleaning with a non-aggressive cleaner. We will give you a couple of simple pointers so the finish stays looking fresh, but there is nothing fussy about it.

That is a great combination. Because the calipers sit behind the wheels, doing them alongside an alloy refurbishment means the whole corner of the car is considered as one. Bundle them together and we will make sure the colours and finishes work with each other.
